Chris Horner and Janez Brajkovic will join Lance Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer and TeamRadioShack will have three Americans on its roster in its quest to get Armstrong his eighth Tour de France title.
Horner, 38, of Bend, Ore., will return to the Tour de France after missing the event in 2008 and 2009.
In 2008, Astana was not allowed to compete in the Tour in Horner’s first year with the team. Last year, Horner was not included when team director Johan Bruyneel opting for team more suited to Alberto Contador, who won the race.Horner, 38, of Bend, Ore., will return to the Tour de France after missing the event in 2008 and 2009.
Horner will be competing in his fourth Tour de France. He made his debut in 2005 with Saunier Duval and also raced in support of Cadel Evans with Lotto in 2005 and in 2007 when he finished a career-best 15th overall.
Brajkovic, 26, surprisingly won the 2007 Tour de Georgia and earlier this year had his first major European tour breakthrough when he won the overall title at Le Dauphine Libere.
Also named to the squad as co-captains were Andreas Kloden of Germany and Leipheimer of Santa Rosa, California. Kloden has finished second overall in the Tour de France twice. Leiphemer has finished in the top-10 overall four times, including third in 2007.
